I owned the sound design of destruction, weapons, combat, extreme weather, and ambiences, as well as narrative elements and the games technical mix. I also helped steer the content and implementation of the in game car radios, featuring 40+ South and Central American artists, streaming seamlessly. To accommodate so much content, we undertook a major refactor in our mix methodology, to work in the largest open world Avalanche had created yet. I spoke on the topic of complex and systemic mix design at GDC 2019, about the methods we used to mix Just Cause 4.
